We see increased use of data from the LiK Study for conducting research, policy analysis, and teaching at Kyrgyz universities. We draw on evidence from Kyrgyzstan using data from three household surveys collected in 1993, 1998 and 2011. We find that Kyrgyzstan, like Eastern European middle income transition economies, generally maintained high educational mobility, comparable to the levels during Soviet times. Dr Anastasia Aladysheva is a Senior Researcher with the Life in Kyrgyzstan project of the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute, where she focuses on development and peacebuilding programmes in Kyrgyzstan.

2021-3-17 · The Life in Kyrgyzstan survey for 2013 was funded by DFID as part of the Growth and Labour Market-Low Income Country (GLM-LIC) Programme. The consortium currently includes SIPRI, as the lead institution, ISDC, the University of Central Asia as the main Kyrgyz partner and several research institutions from Asia, Europe and North America.
The ‘Life in Kyrgyzstan’ Study is a research-based multi-topic longitudinal survey of households and individuals in Kyrgyzstan. It tracks the same 3000 households and over 8000 individuals over time in all seven Kyrgyz regions (oblasts) and the two cities of Bishkek and Osh. The survey collects information at household and individual levels on ISDC, the Institute of Public Policy and Administration of the University of Central Asia (UCA), SIPRI, the United Nations University Maastricht Economic and Social Research Institute on Innovation and Technology (UNU-MERIT) and 3ie will offer a Summer School in Kyrgyzstan in June 2015 entitled ‘Life in Kyrgyzstan International Summer School on Impact Evaluation Methods in Central Asia ’. The ‘Life in Kyrgyzstan’ Study (LiK Study) is a research-based, open access, multi-topic longitudinal survey of households and individuals in Kyrgyzstan.
